Everyday there is some new song begging for attention. But, time is precious and most of them don’t deserve it. But, since here at EK (Eardrum Krushez, duh) we live, eat, sleep, and crap music, odds are we are going to listen to it anyway, so we are going to do you a favor and pick out those who deserve a piece of your time for a quick listen. These artists usually pop up in articles too, so you’ll get to wow your friends with how music-conscious you are.

If you know of a song whose greatness has not reached its true potential yet, please send us an email at:

Mario “Break Up” featuring Gucci Mane and Sean Garrett. You take a risk getting production by Bangladesh, it is either going to be pure heat or terribly annoying; this thankfully falls in the former category. Mario and Sean Garret complement each other well on this track, flowing seamlessly over the beat and giving the song a silky smooth feel. Gucci Mane can’t be in anyone’s top 100 list of rappers, but you have to respect his grind right now, he has been everywhere! Oh, and the rap isn’t horrible. With the right amount of promotion, Mario has a banger on his hands! Listen here.

Trey Songz “I Need A Girl” premiered on BET’s 106 & Park last night. But, the song has been heating up the internet for a while. The production on this track is minimal, but it’s okay because it isn’t the beat you’re supposed to be checking for anyway. The lyrics are clean, simple, and will pull on every girl’s heart strings. Something about this song just makes you think about a fresh summer day. This is a definite must hear for all of you R&B lovers! His new album Ready will be in stores on August 4th. Listen
here.

Teairra Mari, you remember her? She had that one album on Roca-A-Fella that got a luke-warm reception. Well, she is back, but is she better than ever?? Her first single is entitled “Cause A Scene” featuring Flo Rida. It doesn’t really sound different from her first album, but I am not really convinced that it was her sound that was the first album’s problem. Anyway, check out the video of her new single below.

Honorable Mention:

Sophia Fresh is an all-girl group out of Houston, TX made up of 3 gifted young women: Skye, Crystal, and Cole Rose. They are currently signed to Nappy Boy Entertainment, and are set to release their debut album through Atlantic Records. Their single “What It Is” was released around December 2008, but most people aren’t in the know, so if you haven’t heard, listen here.
