Upcoming Producer's Spotlight

Remember growing up, sitting by the radio with a blank tape, hitting the record button when a hot song came on, and then racing to hit the stop button before the radio commercials started?  Then getting mad when you played the tape back and realized that  you had some songs that even when the tape player was on full blast, you could barely hear them, and some that would come blasting through the speakers, if you didn’t change the volume down in time? 

Every time I reminisce over those times, one other set of memories sneak through:  The older people that used to question, how I could even stomach to listen to “that music”; I don’t know about you, but I NEVER had a good response to that question.  I couldn’t admit that I loved the lyrics or much less had a connection with the lyrics, so I blamed the only thing they couldn’t get mad at, the beat.  Somehow those words:  “I just love the beat” quieted them for about 5 minutes, which was all I needed because I simply wanted to finish listening to the song.

So in dedication to all the past producers that allowed us to get a proper music education, we (here at EK) located some of the producers whose music deserves to get blasted today.  They are all amazingly talented and have a unique ear for “dope-ness”.

We hadn’t planned on making this a reoccurring “spotlight”, but if the talent is there, our fans want/deserve to know about it!

Starting November 2nd we will be doing interviews with Song-writers.  Later in the month of November, we will also do “spotlights” on R&B singers and Rappers.  If you know of someone who should be interviewed for any of the categories listed above, please see the Contact Us page for further information.
