"How You Really Want It" Busta Rhymes ft. Jesse West
When Busta started making a turn for the worst is debatable, but no one, even his fans debate the fact that the legend has changed. Somehow, whether it is a horrible beat, a lame hook, or just a lazy flow, Busta finds a way to slightly disappoint you on a track. Its enough disappointment to keep you talking about how he changed, but just good enough to make you remember how good he was and still could be. "How You Really Want It" falls along those same lines, the beat is nice (not great..but good), but we get what sounds like would usually be a skit added to the beginning of the song, and then you get a horrible hook. Time to step it up! For all of you new hiphop fans and/or slackers, if you dont know who Jesse West is, educate yourself! Listen to the song below and tell me what you think.
As a bonus, I added Jadakiss "What If" featuring Nas. The Last Kiss is a must have!
That New New: Rap Edition
“Get that Doe” finds Shawnna back and I would say better than ever, but a chick been this good, y’all just been sleeping on her! She sounds at home over this southern-style beat and its nice to see that while she may have gone away for a minute the flow is still cold.
“Yes” Lil Wayne. This track is not new, but there is still a chance you haven’t heard it anyway, so if you haven’t you need to give it a listen. The beat is provided by Pharrell and it’s so heavy on the bass it sounds like dubstep (probably is). You wont love it if you cant blast it, so upgrade your speakers first. This isn’t the old wayne, but considering what he is putting out nowadays its better than average. One quotable: “panty pie”…Imma let that marinate.
“Kill Dem” Busta Rhymes feat Pharrell & Tosh. I have mixed feelings about this song, but it does have me curious as to how Busta’s upcoming album B.O.M.B is going to sound. I have heard a lot of tracks that supposedly made the cut and they all sound different. Enjoy!
